Histamine ELISA

In humans, histamine (β-imidazole ethylamine) is one of the most important mediators and takes part in the initial phase of an anaphylactic reaction (“immediate type” allergy).
It is produced by basophils and by mast cells found in connective tissues .
Of clinical interest is also the quantification of the histamine release from basophilic leucocytes in allergies (please refer to the add-on kit Histamine Release; reference no. BA E-1100).
